Sparks are igniting. Flames are spreading → The Hunger Games Trilogy madness

I stare down at my wallet as I see my 20 pound bill and 10 dollar bill inside. Perfectly placed, I made sure the bills don’t crease. I had it since our family reunion and my aunt and uncle gave some bills as remembrance or decoration for our wallets. But come to think of it. If you convert its amount into peso, it’s one heck of money. So I made sure that I won’t use it until I am beyond broke and that I have to try my best-est NOT to use it at all.

It was saved for a month or two then I had to convert it coz there were some school dues and I don’t like asking money from my parents as long as I can keep up. Fortunately, there was a big amount left and I was inside FULLYBOOKED and I couldn’t keep my eyes from the three books on the shelf. The Hunger Games Trilogy by SUZANNE COLLINSit says.

I have known of its brilliance — on how well it was plotted and perfectly paced, you name it. I’ve been wishing (since last year) that FULLYBOOKED will open one set for free reading. I always have a great deal of free reads there. I’ve finished Beauty Equation and a lot of chick lits and more. But there was never an opened Hunger Games set so without hesitation, I bought it BUT never got the chance to read it until our internet connection was cut.

Everyone who told me about this book was true. It was such a good read I had to take it with me everywhere and it kept me all night. I finished every book for two days, so it took me 6 days, and the rest of the days? Obsessing about it, the movie, and making this blog post/review as good as my mind could offer.

I’ll start saying about the story. Of course I’m not gonna narrate it to you guys *eyes rolling* I, myself don’t wanna get spoiled in anything (books, movies, & tv shows) so I know how it feels. Don’t worry, I may have a couple of photos taken from the books, but I made sure it’s as vague as possible.

Hunger Games— a fight to death on live TV.

“In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between ages of twelve to eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games.”

If you think it’s more than enough, no it isn’t 😉
and you will find out more if you’ll start reading the series.

I’ll  introduce to the main characters — their descriptions and who’s gonna play who since the first movie will be out next year, March 23, 2012. (See??? The world isn’t going to end. It SHOULD NOT end. I still have to watch this trilogy and finish college!)

The main character here is Katniss Everdeen, sixteen years old, lives with her mother and younger sister, Prim and their cat, Buttercup, plus their goat, Lady.

Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone) plays Katniss Everdeen -She will also be playing Mystique in the upcoming new X-MEN movie.

-she looks nothing like how Katniss was described (Katniss has straight long black hair, which she normally pulls back into a long braid, olive skin, and gray eyes). I’m so excited on her transformation! i wonder how hot she’s going to look.

Then there’s this guy, GaleGale Hawthorne (to be played by Liam Hemsworth)

“When Katniss was 12, and he 14, both of their dads died in the same mining accident, and soon they became hunting partners. Katniss says that at 14, “Gale already looked like a man” And it is later mentioned he was over 6 feet tall. Similar to many people from The Seam, he has olive skin, straight black hair, and gray eyes.”

okay I’m not actually a fan coz I only know him as Miley Cyrus’ ex-boyfriend. And Gale’s supposed to be hot.. who knows? Maybe I’m gonna be able to learn to like him when the movie comes out 😉

Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson)

Peeta is described as having “ashy blond hair that falls in waves over his forehead”, blue eyes, and a stocky build. He is also very strong from lifting hundred-pound bags of flour at the family bakery.

-ooohhh yes. that boy from the movie, Little Manhattan is all grown up! (and hot hehe) I’m definitely sure he can act. Peeta is the hardest and the most challenging character if you ask me.

I’m pretty excited on who’s gonna play Finnick Odair too because in the book, he’s described as…

However, here are some of the people who will play as tributes for each district 🙂

Here are some of the fan-made posters I saw in the internet..

What I like about this trilogy is that it’s the perfect love triangle and adventure novel set. Suzanne succeeded on giving us the right kind of series about weighing survival against humanity and life against love. The kind of series Stephanie Mayer opted to do but failed. I’m so sorry Twilight fans but Twilight Saga was so pathetic.
Okay, disclaimer: I did enjoy Twilight (the first book) and the HOT wolf pack but I never got the chance to finish reading until the last book. New Moon was boring enough to go on.

Well anyway, my Twilight rants are another story. Let us not send negative vibes on my Hunger Games post 😉

Thank you for reading! (to those who caught a glimpse, read a few phrases, survived a couple of sentences, and to those who finished up until the last of this blogpost.)
