S M A S H

Today, I was extra happy 🙂
I finally finished downloading America’s new tv series, SMASH.
I was actually one of the few people who waited until it was aired in live telly. I mean, we don’t have NBC here in the Philippines it’s not like a I have a choice. I found out about the show because of @MsLeaSalonga‘s and @FrancoMabanta‘s tweets. Apparently, the two have seen the show’s screening weeks before the it officially started (Feb. 6, 2012).

Anyway, it was totally worth the wait. I actually refused to read anything about SMASH before it aired because I didn’t want anyone else’s opinion affecting mine. I love Katharine McPhee. Always have. My niece sings “Connected” everyday from Barbie and the opening song of SMASH’s pilot ep was “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” I used to play that on the piano for my Tatay (my grandfather) when he was still alive :’)

My thoughts about the show?
It was a total win. Finally I’d get to rest from hearing Rachel Berry’s voice. Not that I hate Glee. I love Glee. Rachel just annoys me.

“If there were glee there would be no Smash. They paved the way for us. They made music in primetime successful, But we are a different show. We are a drama, and a bit more grown up.”
— Debra Messing on E! News

I’m just glad there’s another musical series .

I was so psyched to see a show about Broadway, shot in New York, and cast with stage actors like Brian D’Arcy James, Megan Hilty and Christian Borle, alongside famous tv favorite, Debra Messing (damn I’ve missed her! She’s really good) and of course Katharine McPhee! I didn’t expect her acting to be really good. It was even better than the movies I’ve seen her in it.

So far, SMASH has got me hooked (despite its discussed flaws) and I’m really sticking around. I freakin love the songs which some are original, the whole production, and the drama. In fact, this is the first time that I love the archenemy. I can’t seem to decide which side to take.

Smash is bringing out the love for musical theater I never knew I had.

And because I love the show, I’m leaving you with my favorite song from the pilot ep 😉

By the way,

if you’re not already watching Smash,
you need to be!

October joys

In our family, October’s prolly the busiest month since we have so many relatives celebrating their birthdays. My mom’s included.
Last Oct. 4, it was my cousin Danrae’s birthday who lives now in Chicago. Followed by my mom’s birthday, Oct. 6 which she celebrated here in Cebu with us. By celebration I mean family, home-cooked meals, & stories to tell.

Just us, family and closest friends with delish food and mama’s specialties. This panacotta is one of it 😀

October 7 was my uncle’s birthday who’s in Mindanao. Moving on, yesterday, October 8, was my cousin Kathleen’s birthday 🙂

Tuck it IN

I was watching a local talkshow  here in the Philippines which is Gandang Gabi Vice and this celebrity, Toni Gonzaga was wearing a polo shirt tucked in shorts. What I noticed is that it was only tucked in front and the back part of the polo was flowing. It was kind of nice.. Actually really looked good! But I kept thinking that it only looked good because:
a) Toni has a really nice bod
b) the fact that she’s a celebrity, even if she wears street clothes it’ll still look good on her.

So I pushed the idea of trying it. Then one morning came and I watched another talkshow, KrisTV and the actress Angel Locsin did the same thing on her polo the way Toni did.

and last night, I got inspired because I was browsing zara.com and found these..

Cute isn’t it? I’ve come to conclude that Shalom Harlow is right.

You don’t learn style from watching people on a runway. Fashion happens every morning when you wake up.

it is ALWAYS the way you carry yourself 😉
So go strut your stuff and try this new (or not) trend.

Bisous,

Finding the perfect shoes & conquering the world

Hi guys. Actually, I’m doing this post for the second time because my lappy shut down and my draft wasn’t saved. FML. It was almost done!!!! :/

Okay. Inhale, Exhale.

Being such an internet buff (wifi at home and unlimited service data plan on my phone), I admit that I’m active to all social sites I’ve signed up to.
Take Twitter for instance. I get updates on my favorite celebrities, musicians, flimmakers, models, bloggers, etc through it.

One night, I read a tweet from Laureen Uy, one of my favorite local fashion bloggers about an update on her blog. The title was so interesting I had to open the link. It’s called Bold Indulgence. I wasn’t even half-way reading it when I can’t contain myself from too much excitement. Apparently, the aforementioned title was the name of What A Girl Wants collection for this month.

WAGW is a local shop that sells uber cool stuff. They have branches all over the Philippines but unfortunately, not every branch have all the items the main branch has which is in Manila. Thank God for internet, online shopping, and making shipment possible.

Among the hundreds (or so it seemed) photos on the BI album, this was the ONLY pic that caught my eye. Remember when I said eons ago that I have this obsession on multi strapped sandals? I know this is no Jeffrey Campbell but this could suffice my shoe thirst 🙂 I immediately checked my savings and didn’t have second thoughts signing the order form.

After a 2 days, I already received the package. It’s so purty I’m in love with it 😀

I got it this afternoon since my cousins and I went out for malling (even if we’re all broke HAHA)

Wore this today BTW. Since it’s summer, no excuses! time to bare more skin 😉
If you guys have lookbook.nu accounts, hypes and comments are highly appreciated 😀

Bon Nuit! :*
