Sears

Since I am a big The Hunger Games Trilogy fan and the movie is about to come out in 15 days, I made my own THG shirt instead of ordering online. I mean some people sell cheap customized THG shirts but the shipping fee makes it expensive. Why spend a lot of dough when you can make your own customized tee?

It’s quite simple. Since I have an extra plain white tee, I cut out letters from an unused polo.

After cutting out the letters, I pinned it on the shirt so it’d be easy. It was hand sewn by the way since I was too afraid to use our sewing machine HAHA! I owe my basic sewing skills to my home economics teachers! HAHAHA

I’ve always been Team Gale. Although I was quite disappointed that Liam Hemsworth’s portraying him. I mean, he was described as “good-looking, strong enough to handle work, and can hunt” but I guess we just have to wait and see. I know he’s a good actor. And ohhh.. I had to post those two similar photos because I can’t decide which filter is nicer 😉

By the way, you can hype this look here.

And since I’ve already started it, I decided to “re-construct” my tees because butterfly sleeves make my arms look bigger 😉 all I had to do is to cut the sleeves.

And I even made a cropped top! 😉

I can actually join KFC’s “street-wise” contest HAHA! 🙂

To Singleton and to every emotional F-wittage

After reading One Day, my obsession for Britlits came back so I basically manged to read Bridget Jones’s Diary and the younger Bridget Jones, Angus Thongs and full frontal snogging in 2 days. Yes and over the weekend, I’m planning to read Atonement or maybe I’ll just sulk again and watch The Other Woman. You know what, things come to me like I was just looking for them. For example, The Strangers Again video, these books.. life is trying to tell me something which I still have to find out.

One Day

Don’t keep fighting battles that are already lost.

she was reaching the limits of how much it’s possible to change a man.

Finally finished reading this incredible book, One Day which is soon going to be a major motion picture starring Anne Hathaway (Love and Other Drugs) and Jim Sturgess (21). I think they’re both perfect to play Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew and I’m so excited for Anne on her British accent (even if critics say she’s awful I know the movie will still be fantabulous). Also, The setting is in Europe specifically in Edinburgh but they’ve done a lot of travelling so I’m pretty sure they’re gonna film the parts in Greece, Paris, etc. What I like about this book is that even if the places are really romantic, it’s actually an emotional riveting love story. Bittersweet to put it in one word.

Here’s the movie trailer. The movie’s gonna be out in August! 🙂
but if you guys are planning to read the book before the watching the movie, I suggest don’t watch the trailer or else you’ll get spoiled.

This is prolly my favorite chapter and I’m so satisfied to have seen it on the trailer and it was greatly shot.

One last thing! Movie’s soundtrack is Good Life by One Republic. One of my forever LSS.

UNTIL THE VERY END ϟ

One brilliant author. One amusement park. Two musicals. Three heroes. Seven books. Eight films. Millions of fans. A lifetime of memories. Harry Potter.

Okay, flashback 10 years ago when I first laid my hands on the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone book. I was in 4th grade and God knows what my age was. After reading it and seen the first movie, I knew that I will become a HUGE and shameless Harry Potter fan. I have read all the books from the very first line until the

All was well.

Finally, we’re on the last countdown 😦
A week before the movie came out in the Philippines (which was yesterday) my cousins and friends and I already made reservations for our VERY FIRST iMax experience for the last HP film. It was costly but it was definitely worth it.

2 days ago, I made a quick review of the last installation.
When I turned the dusty pages of my book, I saw this line, and I started crying.
(By the way, I started reading on the part where the last movie ended so I basically finished it in one night.)

So as early as 10am yesterday, I already prepared my outfit (we’re catching the last full show w/c is at 10:30pm pa HAHA!)

Sparks are igniting. Flames are spreading → The Hunger Games Trilogy madness

I stare down at my wallet as I see my 20 pound bill and 10 dollar bill inside. Perfectly placed, I made sure the bills don’t crease. I had it since our family reunion and my aunt and uncle gave some bills as remembrance or decoration for our wallets. But come to think of it. If you convert its amount into peso, it’s one heck of money. So I made sure that I won’t use it until I am beyond broke and that I have to try my best-est NOT to use it at all.

It was saved for a month or two then I had to convert it coz there were some school dues and I don’t like asking money from my parents as long as I can keep up. Fortunately, there was a big amount left and I was inside FULLYBOOKED and I couldn’t keep my eyes from the three books on the shelf. The Hunger Games Trilogy by SUZANNE COLLINSit says.

I have known of its brilliance — on how well it was plotted and perfectly paced, you name it. I’ve been wishing (since last year) that FULLYBOOKED will open one set for free reading. I always have a great deal of free reads there. I’ve finished Beauty Equation and a lot of chick lits and more. But there was never an opened Hunger Games set so without hesitation, I bought it BUT never got the chance to read it until our internet connection was cut.

Everyone who told me about this book was true. It was such a good read I had to take it with me everywhere and it kept me all night. I finished every book for two days, so it took me 6 days, and the rest of the days? Obsessing about it, the movie, and making this blog post/review as good as my mind could offer.

I’ll start saying about the story. Of course I’m not gonna narrate it to you guys *eyes rolling* I, myself don’t wanna get spoiled in anything (books, movies, & tv shows) so I know how it feels. Don’t worry, I may have a couple of photos taken from the books, but I made sure it’s as vague as possible.

Hunger Games— a fight to death on live TV.

“In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between ages of twelve to eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games.”

If you think it’s more than enough, no it isn’t 😉
and you will find out more if you’ll start reading the series.

I’ll  introduce to the main characters — their descriptions and who’s gonna play who since the first movie will be out next year, March 23, 2012. (See??? The world isn’t going to end. It SHOULD NOT end. I still have to watch this trilogy and finish college!)

The main character here is Katniss Everdeen, sixteen years old, lives with her mother and younger sister, Prim and their cat, Buttercup, plus their goat, Lady.

Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone) plays Katniss Everdeen -She will also be playing Mystique in the upcoming new X-MEN movie.

-she looks nothing like how Katniss was described (Katniss has straight long black hair, which she normally pulls back into a long braid, olive skin, and gray eyes). I’m so excited on her transformation! i wonder how hot she’s going to look.

Then there’s this guy, GaleGale Hawthorne (to be played by Liam Hemsworth)

“When Katniss was 12, and he 14, both of their dads died in the same mining accident, and soon they became hunting partners. Katniss says that at 14, “Gale already looked like a man” And it is later mentioned he was over 6 feet tall. Similar to many people from The Seam, he has olive skin, straight black hair, and gray eyes.”

okay I’m not actually a fan coz I only know him as Miley Cyrus’ ex-boyfriend. And Gale’s supposed to be hot.. who knows? Maybe I’m gonna be able to learn to like him when the movie comes out 😉

Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson)

Peeta is described as having “ashy blond hair that falls in waves over his forehead”, blue eyes, and a stocky build. He is also very strong from lifting hundred-pound bags of flour at the family bakery.

-ooohhh yes. that boy from the movie, Little Manhattan is all grown up! (and hot hehe) I’m definitely sure he can act. Peeta is the hardest and the most challenging character if you ask me.

I’m pretty excited on who’s gonna play Finnick Odair too because in the book, he’s described as…

However, here are some of the people who will play as tributes for each district 🙂

Here are some of the fan-made posters I saw in the internet..

What I like about this trilogy is that it’s the perfect love triangle and adventure novel set. Suzanne succeeded on giving us the right kind of series about weighing survival against humanity and life against love. The kind of series Stephanie Mayer opted to do but failed. I’m so sorry Twilight fans but Twilight Saga was so pathetic.
Okay, disclaimer: I did enjoy Twilight (the first book) and the HOT wolf pack but I never got the chance to finish reading until the last book. New Moon was boring enough to go on.

Well anyway, my Twilight rants are another story. Let us not send negative vibes on my Hunger Games post 😉

Thank you for reading! (to those who caught a glimpse, read a few phrases, survived a couple of sentences, and to those who finished up until the last of this blogpost.)
